We dream that someday, Bernese will regularly live pain free into the double digits...not only a lucky few of them, but most of them regularly. Our mission is to breed a healthy, long lived dog that conforms to the breed standard and can easily perform the tasks required with a good easy going temperament and a will to please. How do we plan to do that?

First we select boys for our girls that are not only wonderful examples of the breed, but also do extensive pedigree research taking into account health clearances as well as sibling and progeny data to give us a full picture of what the pairing should produce. This means tons of hours searching the web, traveling to shows all over the world, talking to people and building relationships so that we can do our best to breed the healthiest Bernese and continuing these relationships for a lifetime, keeping track of the relatives and our puppies.

Our girls that we keep are selected with the same traits in mind to better the breed. We work also to not only put a conformation championship on our dogs but to also work with them in performance events to show they can still do what they were bred to do. On the health side we complete full litter health data and all of this is entered into an open database just for bernese called Berner Garde. Berner Garde is available to anyone at NO COST, you enter the site as a guest and can learn so much about Bernese all over the world. BG has database operators now in many different countries. You will see a BG# under each and every one of our dogs. It is hyperlinked directly to our dog’s database record in Berner Garde. From the dogs ID# you can find out the pedigree, health testing certifications, sibling health data, progeny data, longevity, age of death and cause of death, breeding co-efficient, list of titles and the list goes on. So instead of publishing our health data, pedigree etc on our website now we are going to take you directly to BG where you can find all the data that used to be on our site as well as much, much more.
